Welcome to Hotel Gehspitze.

Our hotel has been a family business for many generations, and I would like to share a little of our history with you, our future guests.

The Hotel Gehspitze was founded by my grandmother Margarethe Wolff Schroeder and her husband Charles Schroeder. Margarethe grew up under her grandfather's influence in the hospitality business, watching and learning from him. When she grew older, she married Charles Schroeder and in 1935 they purchased the hotel and began renovations, adding new rooms and enlarging an existing movie theater.

The hotel flourished, and by 1965 the fourth generation of family became co-owners. Karl-Heinz and Gerda Schroeder brought with them further renovations, and added new guestrooms, showers, and modernized the movie theater. The popularity of the hotel grew, and new parking areas were added to accomodate our guests. In 1984 a comfortable pub was added, in addition to several dining rooms allowing for both large and small gatherings. The theater was closed in 1985.

1992 saw another generation enter the family business, as grandson Ralf attained his status as Master Chef.

In 1995 Chef Schroeder became the new owner of the Hotel Gehspitze bringing with him modern ideas as well as the rich century-old family history.

A new association with Erbacher Brauhaus in the Odenwald an area known for its pure water and excellent German beer, promises the continuation of excellent service, world class cuisine, and warm atmosphere that has made the Hotel Gehspitze a favorite with busy executives and businessmen and women throughout its history. At the present time, there are 19 overnight guestrooms and three meeting rooms which will each accomodate up to 50 people for meals, meetings and conventions.
